A Modern Brooklyn Home

I realize I’m on a kick with the modern/Scandanavian look this week but I can’t help but feature a space when I look at a photo and say ‘that’s cool’ or ‘I love that’ about every other object in the decor. Allow me to re-introduce you to the ever talented photographer Rikki Snyder whose work I discovered through Houzz and previously featured in A 1940’s Farmhouse post. Today’s abode belongs to Brin Reinhardt and Nathan Ursch of Breuckelen Berber, a shop filled with moroccan-inspired rugs and accessories. Their style is undeniably fresh & modern and it’s safe to say I want everything in their home, especially the vintage modern pieces and the cat.

This is when painted brick just looks so good. And that chair–found it! It’s the Arne Jacobsen Swan Chair and you can find it at Hive Modern. I get such satisfaction in challenging myself to find a product and I’m actually successful, especially when I’m searching under really general terms like ‘modern chair’. The window full of plants in fun pots immediately adds more life. Get the look with the Cashewnot Plant Pot with Saucer from IKEA. Notice what they did to hide the heating vent? Quite clever.

Color coordinated books & animal figurines–I think I’m in heaven. Such a good look.

I’m typically not a huge fan of unpainted wood cabinets and wood floors put together but the stains on these are such a match that it works. Add in sleek appliances, matching moroccan tile backsplash, funky rug and pop of color in the stool & I’m all set. Tis’ beautiful. Get the look with this H Blue Stool from Home Decorators Collection from Home Depot // EliteTile Beacon Mosiac tile via Wayfair // rug from the homeowners’ shop.

I spy a kitty in a box! Love the exposed wood ceiling and yet more fun funky planters and vases. Create the look with these Lunar Matte White Vases from Zinc Door.

These twin dressers are simply to die for. Create the look with this Mid Century Dresser from West Elm.

Check out Rikki’s blog for even more pictures filled with vintage modern gems.

  1. Once again, another great looking bookcase. I like the color coordinated books and knick knacks.
