The other day I was walking the storelines of Derby Street Shoppes in Hingham, MA and passed by a family of girls dressed a bit differently than most local folks around here. The mother was leading her two daughters in a haste to get to the car; one girl about two at the mother’s hip and the other about five doing her best to keep up. What captured my attention was that all three of them wore tie dyed or fun-colored maxi skirts that billowed in the wind as they rushed to their next adventure. And all I could think to myself was ‘that’s the cutest darn bohemian family I’ve ever seen.’
Maxi skirts are great. They used to be my mother’s signature style and most recently they are very popular to wear during the summer. But why should they be limited to the warm seasons? So long as the fabric isn’t light & sheer like chiffon you can stay warm by adding leggings and boots underneath to keep the look all year long.
Such a great ensemble. The stripes and animal print belt are right on trend and the infinity scarf adds even more comfy-cozyness.
LOVE this look with the cropped leather jacket and what may be a turtleneck underneath. So good.
This skirt from Shabby Apple is perfect for the holiday season. The look is sleek, yet still fun when combined with animal print heels and a pop of color in a necklace.
This look: wear with a sweater tucked in out or not for maximum warmth.
