New England is full of old houses jam-packed with interesting history. One of my favorite historical tours is Beauport, the Sleeper-McCann House in Gloucester, MA. It was the summer home of Henry Davis Sleeper who was one of America’s first professional interior designers. Among many beautiful and quirky pieces the 40-room home displays, one of my favorites is in the back yard by the garden overlooking the ocean–a decorative squirrel!
Both photos taken by myself in the Summer of 2012.
More and more squirrels are popping up in modern-day decor, perhaps some even inspired by the late Henry Davis Sleeper.
This wallpaper by Aimee Wilder would be cute lining the back of a bookshelf.
Feast in style with this Squirrel Bread Bowl by Pottery Barn.
This Ceramic Squirrel Ring Holder from Forever 21 would be a great addition to a nightstand or vanity.
